Baltimore Man Charged with Aberdeen Copper Thefts

A Baltimore man has been arrested for several copper thefts.

Aberdeen police arrested a 38-year-old Baltimore man Thursday on charges related to multiple Aberdeen copper thefts in September and October.

Shawn Michael Cook, 38, of the 1000 block of Elkton Avenue has been charged with one count each of theft between $1,000 and $10,000, theft scheme between $1,000, three counts of theft less than $1,000 and one count of malicious destruction of property worth less than $500, according to court records.

Cook was arrested without incident in the 8900 block of Kelso Drive in Baltimore County, according to a release from the Aberdeen Police Department. The incident remains under investigation. Maryland State Police assisted with the arrest.

Cook was released Friday on $5,000 bail. He has a Harford County District Court appearance scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Dec. 21.
