The high-profile abduction case involving Vi Ripken—the mother of National Baseball Hall of Famer Cal Ripken—just got a little more attention.

The case appeared on Friday's episode of America's Most Wanted.

The episode aired the same day that Cal Ripken went on a national morning television program and held an emotional press conference in Baltimore.

Earlier in the week, billboards throughout the Baltimore metro region featured the composite sketch, along with the 410-836-5432 tip line.

Violet Ripken, 74, was taken from her home by a man hiding in her garage between 7 and 8 a.m. on July 24, and returned unharmed to her neighborhood, where she was found tied up in her car around 6:15 a.m. on July 25, police said.

Wow! This is amazing!! Just forget about all of the murderers and rapists and even possible terrorists that might be out there in our Country. After all, this IS the most important case now. What I find so interesting is that THIS "kidnapping" case or Vi Ripken was reported missing on July 24th! Did you realize that the big national headline on July 22nd was, "KATHERINE JACKSON REPORTED MISSING." Since that became national news and it went "viral" on the web, I believe someone else possibly created a story for the notariety. And, if that's true, it really makes me ashamed of how this Country deals with the priorizitation of searching for REAL criminals. That, in and of itself, is a crime. Why are they doing this? Because this happened to be Cal Ripken, Jr.'s mother? Who cares! Apparently, the so-called, alleged perp didn't even know who she was. So, sorry--it is not a "high profile" case. I am certain CR would love to "think" it is; but, it is not. You cannot compare apples to oranges. Now, had Katherine Jackson really been missing--now THAT would have been a "high-profile" case for the FBI. I still cannot believe this case (whereby nobody was injured; nobody was harmed; and no items or money was stolen) is receiving world-wide attention in the media. How about searching for the people that are HIT AND KILLED by vehicles instead? It's so sad when a case such as this has become more important in the news that the successful landing of the Mars Rover!
