Bridge Repair to Impact Aberdeen MARC Service
Train passengers may face interruptions or delays on select days in March, April.
There will be some modifications to MARC service in late March and mid April as work gets underway on the Bush River Bridge, transportation officials announced.
Due to maintenance on the bridge—which is located between Edgewood and Aberdeen—trains will be single-tracking in that area.
As a result, passengers may experience "minor delays" north of Baltimore, according to a statement from the Maryland Transit Administration.
The work will take place on these dates:
- March 25
- March 26
- March 27
- April 15
- April 16
- April 17
MARC officials said the following trains will be affected:
- Train 520 (12:20 p.m. departure from Union Station) will terminate at Martin Airport. Bus service will be provided to Edgewood, Aberdeen and Perryville.
- Train 537 (2:30 p.m. departure from Perryville) will originate at Penn Station. Bus service will be provided for those boarding at Perryville, Aberdeen, Edgewood and Martin Airport. Officials advise passengers to take train 439 or 641 if they are heading south of Baltimore.
- Train 579 (6:25 p.m. departure from Perryville) will not be in operation. Instead, bus service will be provided for those boarding at Perryville, Aberdeen, Edgewood and Martin Airport. Since the bus will not be traveling as fast as the train, the connection to Train 451 is not guaranteed.
