Cops To Top Donut Shop For Special Olympics

Local law enforcement will sit atop an Aberdeen Dunkin' Donuts for 24 hours to raise funds.

Sterotypically, cops love donuts.

Realistically, local police love giving back to the Special Olympics of Maryland.

Those two theories will meet on Sept. 29 atop the Dunkin' Donuts in Aberdeen, where local law enforcement will be perched for 24 hours to raise funds for Special Olympics.

Officers will be atop the store, encouraging and welcoming donations from 10 a.m. on Sept. 29 until 10 a.m. on Sept. 30.

Special Olympics provide year-round training and competition for people ages 8 and older with intellectual disabilities.

"The spirit of this mission is the drive behind our law enforcement partnership," Captain Joseph L. Alton Jr. of the Maryland Transportation Authority wrote in a letter to Aberdeen Patch.
