Brenton Barnes dream of playing college football is now a reality.

The Aberdeen senior lineman has signed his letter of intent to continue his education and his playing career at Wesley College in Dover, DE.

Angie Barnes said her son intends to major in nursing with the goal of becoming an anesthesiologist.

Barnes was an All-UCBAC selection after starting on the offensive and defensive lines for the Eagles.

He led two different teams to the state playoffs in his final two seasons—anchoring the state runner-up Havre de Grace lines as a junior in 2010 and serving as a captain for the Eagles state semifinalist team in 2011.

Barnes has also played baseball at both Havre de Grace and Aberdeen.

At Division-III Wesley, Barnes will join other Harford County products, such as fellow Aberdeen Eagle Kennard Squirrell, Havre de Grace alum Michael Kelly and Fallston's Ben Barile and Matt Barile.
