Harford County Council To Talk Agricultural Preservation
The Harford County Council will begin its legislative session at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9.
Several bills dealing with agricultural preservation are up for introduction during the Harford County Council meeting Tuesday night.
The meeting is scheduled to take place in "The Black Box," located at 212 S. Bond Street in Bel Air.
In August, the county began creating a countywide map of four, major land-use tiers required by the Maryland Sustainable Growth and Agricultural Preservation Act, according to a story on ExploreHarford.com.
The act would prevent the county from creating other subdivisions in most of the county, another ExploreHarford.com story states.
These areas will specify sewerage system types among other things, the story states. To better understand how the law will impact your property visit the county's planning and zoning site.
Last week, the council and county zoning director criticized the state legislation for taking away the rights of local property owners and reducing the value of that property, the story states.
