Human Remains Found in Joppa
The remains were found in a Joppa dumpster and at the home of the Joppa man who has been missing since Friday.
Human remains were found in two separate locations in Joppa and there is a possibility they belong to a man who has been missing since Friday, police say.
"We have an active, ongoing investigation, which uncovered some evidence that a crime may have occurred in a house located in the 500 block of Terrapin Terrace in Joppa," Monica Worrell, public information officer with the Harford County Sheriff's Office, said Wednesday.
“There is a strong suspicion that this is our missing person," Worrell said.
Worrell said police executed a search and seizure warrant Wednesday morning at the home and discovered human remains. The address of the warrant matches the home address of Kujoe Bonsafo Agyei-Kodie, 37, who has been missing since Friday.
Remains were also found in a dumpster off of Trimble Road, Worrell said. It was unclear Wednesday evening whether there was more than one victim of violence.
She added that positive identification must be made by the Chief Medical Examiner's Office.
“We do have a suspect in custody," Worrell said.
The sheriff's office issued a statement over the holiday weekend asking for help locating Agyei-Kodie.
The sheriff's office said he was last seen around 5:30 p.m. on May 25 near his home in the 500 block of Terrapin Terrace in Joppa wearing jogging attire—a white T-shirt and blue shorts—with no wallet, phone or keys.
