Joel Hutter Named 2012 IronBirds MVP

The IronBirds wrap up the regular season Wednesday in Vemont.

 

IronBirds shortstop Joel Hutter has been named the 2012 IronBirds Most Valuable Player.

The Orioles' 10th round pick in June's draft, Hutter entered Tuesday batting .263 with 15 doubles and 28 RBIs. He was also 3-for-3 in stolen base attempts, and scored 21 runs in 62 games. 

He was also named to the New York-Penn League All-Star Game in August.

Hutter is an Iowa native. He was drafted out of Dallas Baptist, where he hit .338 with 11 homers and 72 RBIs. He was voted a second-team All-American by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers' Association.

The IronBirds wrap up the 2012 season Wednesday in Vermont. Entering Monday, they had dropped 11-of-12 entering the final three games of the season.
