Man Flown Out with Head Trauma in Perrywood

The incident happened around 7 p.m. Wednesday outside of Aberdeen.

A man with a head injury was transported to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center after an incident in Perrywood Wednesday evening.

The incident took place in the 200 block of Perrywood Court and involved a head injury to a male, who was conscious when officers arrived, according to Sgt. Casimir Alkanowski of the Harford County Sheriff's Office.

Alkanowski said it wasn't immediately clear whether the injury, which occurred around 7 p.m., was from a gunshot or from a physical assault.

Police had not apprehended a suspect as of 7:55 p.m., Alkanowski said.

Perrywood Gardens needs to be torn down. The only thing that comes from there is drugs and violence.

Question: Is it poor housing? If so, no wonder that there is so much violence out there.
As to the drugs, just legalize the drug trade and move the hell on. Prohibition for alcohol didn't work and neither does prohibition for drugs.

@Vatina....You are so right. You can take care of the place you live in and be proud of it, or you can let it become a slum. You can't blame your surroundings on anyone but yourselves!

You aren't OWED anything. If you worked for years you should have savings from living within your means. If more folks lived within their means, maybeplaces like this would be filled with honest working people who usually don't allow criminals to thrive where their kids play. Pray all you want, God helps those who help themselves, not those who help themselves to other people's money.

Sad. God does help those who are in need and those that aren't. God is faithful. I feel for those no matter where they live where hard times hit. By the way it doesn't matter where you live sad things happen to those that have money they just cover it up and hope it doesn't hit the news. But for those that are less fortunate we need to help them not support them help them until they get on there feet. God want us to love one another and keep good will going. Now I'm not talking about those that are just to lazy to get out and work. One more thing, we are owed something if we work and pay into S.S. then we should get that back it it ours, it was not put there to be used up by the Government or to put into welfare. My heart goes out to thoes that seek help and can't get it then you havesome that all they seem to have to do is make a phone call and they have evrything they want givng to them at out expence. For those that are hooked on drugs or anything else most likley they got it from a person that lives in a Beautiful house laughting all the way to the bank for the money they receive off the users. I pray they get clean and get their life cleaned up. Doesn't matter where you live, God still loves you.

Regardless of what you think about the place...a fellow citizen was flown to shock trauma possibly fighting for his life. Do good morals mean anything to anyone anymore? Its funny how people assume that because the incident happened in a low income area that it must have been about drugs. And then..to turn it around and make it all about welfare! Wake up people..stop being so insensitive.

I hope the person is okay. And for the very disrespectful people on this post - there are ppl who work full time jobs & go to school that live out there. I happen to be one of them. Trust me, I don't plan to live there all my life so please don't be so judgemental. Some of us had to start somewhere. Yes there are ppl who abuse the system but not everyone who receives assistance from the government are like that. God bless u all.

Erica...you are so correct. I started out there as a young mother 35 yrs ago. I went to college, got my nursing credentials, bought homes and cars and even adopted my last child since then. There are GOOD people in BAD neighborhoods and BAD people in GOOD neighborhoods. Before one person points one finger one must remember there are more fingers pointing back at thyself. Let the 1st person who has not sinned cast the 1st stone. I pray for all the victims of crime AND ignorance!

Well, most of the 'bad' people in poor neighborhoods are people who don't earn enough to survive at their jobs so they turn to real crime (breaking into homes, mugging, etc.) to survive.

In good neighborhoods, you have to watch out for the 'middle class whacko' who turns out to be a serial killer or rapist.

Bus Driver
For the last seven school years I have picked up high school students at Perry wood Garden Apartments. I have come to know these kids from 9th grade to graduating, yes graduating. They have been respectful, kind and enjoyable. Kids inherit these traits, from their parents or caretakers. “Neighborhoods” do not make people break the law. All Neighborhoods have lawbreakers, so, don’t judge these neighborhoods based on their social needs. Good and bad can come from any neighborhood.

First, I wish people would learn correct English and Grammar in order to spill their hate on these pages.
Second, just how many times can you repeat the same post???
Lastly, I worked my entire adult life supporting my family (and sometimes extended family) only to find my self blindsided by a medical emergency. This emergency cost me my income and wiped out my savings. I had no choice but to use the money I EARNED through Social Security, get benefits from Social Services, and move my family to public housing. I don't do drugs. I don't sell drugs. I raise my children and work on getting myself well so that I can one day come off all of these programs.
So, think again before you paint everyone in an area or situation with the same brush. And in my neighborhood we keep this activity (drugs, loitering, fighting) at bay through resident vigilance and communication, a good rapport with management and the police, enforcement of "No Trespassing" rules as well as a one strike you're out policy. It's not foolproof...but it does work. Not saying that Perrywood doesn't try, but you have to get a system firing on all cylinders before you see real change.
But don't slam an entire community for a couple of bad seeds. Some of us are just legitimately trying to make it.
And for the love of all things holy, learn English.

Now for my real reason for commenting...a persons life is in jeopardy. They were rushed to a trauma center with an injury so severe that it couldn't be determined if it was a gunshot or not...I am an EMT...that's bad!!!!! So why are there any political posts? Why must the trolls come out from under their bridges and spew their hate. We should be praying for this person's recovery. If what I read here and elsewhere is any indication of where we are and where we are going, I weep for my children's future

Yes Todd, I for one failed to mention the fact that someone was in bad shape prayers going up for the person and their family. We need not judge someone for where they live. Like one person said we all started out somewhere. Todd thank you and bless you for your service as an EMT.

Reading some of these posts is sickening. Some of u think u r so much better than people who live in Perrywood. I have lived out there in the past. So for all of those people. Look around ur own neighborhood the exact same thing is goin on. Money or race makes no difference, drugs & crime is everywhere. U may not know who or where but trust me its there. Or dont u get out muuch?

You are right June drugs do not discrimanate they are everywhere like I said in one post. Those that can afford it get high priced laywers to keep it out of the news. Besides It's not where we live that counts it's how we live, thats what we will have to answer for one day. Prayers going up for all.
