The Maryland House on Interstate 95 would normally be buzzing with commuters Tuesday and Wednesday.

The days before Thanksgiving are notoriously busy on the Interstate 95 corridor.

This year, though, the island in the middle of the interstate between the Riverside and Aberdeen exits will sit rather quietly.

The rest stop is closed for renovations. It will reopen about a year from now.

Check out the photos with this post for artists' renderings of the project.

Commuters will find plenty of gasoline and food options at both Riverside and Aberdeen—as well as the Bel Air and Havre de Grace exits—just a short trip beyond the closed rest area. The next rest stop on the highway for northbound travelers is the Chesapeake House in Cecil County.
