Morning Crash in Joppa Sends 1 To Hospital

The crash took place just before 8 a.m. Thursday on U.S. Route 40 in Harford County.

 

One person was transported to Johns Hopkins Bayview hospital after an accident on U.S. Route 40 in Joppa Thursday morning.

The collision took place around 7:44 a.m. on Dec. 27 near the intersection of eastbound Pulaski Highway and Joppa Road, according to a release from the Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company. All lanes of eastbound Route 40 were closed for approximately 25 minutes.

According to the release, Joppa-Magnolia medic transported the patient to Bayview in serious but stable condition. Another patient refused treatment, the statement said.

Maryland State Police are investigating the cause of the crash, according to Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company.
