New Higher Education Courses to Support Aberdeen Proving Ground

Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown and the Maryland Higher Education Commission announced the creation of new educational programs Tuesday.

Seven new degree programs and two courses that support Aberdeen Proving Ground and its educational needs are coming to Maryland's two and four-year colleges, according to a press release from Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown.

The programs are designed to support military missions and more than 8,800 jobs coming to APG due to base realignment and closure, the release stated.

“These new higher education programs, developed in partnership with military leadership, state government, and the higher education community, will help maintain and enhance the skills of the Aberdeen Proving Ground region’s workforce," Brown said in the release.
