Cat of the Week: Bobo
Age: 1 year, 9 months
Color: Calico
Breed: Domestic short hair
Gender: Female
Adoption Fee: $47.50 (reduced from $95)
Hi, my name is BoBo, and I am almost ready to celebrate my second birthday. I wanted to turn 2 at home, but my former owners could no longer take care of me. Could I be at your home to turn 2? I am already spayed so you don't have to take care of that. I am a calico; mostly white with black and orange spots on my back and face, and I have the most beautiful green eyes. How about you stop by and gaze into them and you too will see just how special I am. I’m in the free roam room! (P.S. I’m in the Lonely Hearts Club, so my adoption fee is reduced by 50 percent.)
Dog of the Week: Doodle
Age: 2 years
Color: Buff & white
Breed: Labrador retriever mix
Gender: Male
Adoption Fee: $160
Hi there! My name is Doodle, and I am a 2-year-old fellow who came to the shelter as a stray. I have the sweetest face, don’t I? I am very lovable and friendly with people and would make a great family dog. I am a little selective about my dog friends and I believe that it’s the quality of the friendship, not the quantity of friends one has. Could you spare some time to come to the shelter and take me for a walk? I look forward to meeting you soon!
Other: Boozer
Age: Young adult
Color: White & black
Breed: Rabbit
Gender: Unknown
Adoption Fee: $50
Hello, my name is Boozer, and I am an adorable and gentle rabbit who came to the shelter as a stray. I am very friendly, and I was definitely someone’s pet because I’m used to being handled and I’m even litter box trained! I love being pet and I especially enjoy being rubbed between my ears. Please come soon to see me in the Critter Cottage and see how soft and lovable I am!

WHY ISN'T ADOPTING A PET MORE AFFORDABLE. IN THE LONG RUN, IT IS CHEAPER THAN CONTINUING TO FEED AND CARE FOR THEM.

It really isn't that expensive if you think about it...you are getting a pet that is spayed/neutered and shots are up to date for that fee....way cheaper than it would cost you in the end run if you were to purchase an animal or get a free kitten b/c you would have to pay for all of that stuff yourself and that exceeds $160 easily. They have to offset the treatments that they are already providing someway or another.
