Dog of the Week: Macy
Age: 6 years
Color: Black & white
Breed: Rat terrier
Gender: Female
Adoption Fee: $95
Hi, my name is Macy, and I was brought to the shelter because my owners were moving to a place where they weren't allowed to have a pet. I’ve made lots of friends here, and even though everyone is nice, I can't wait to find myself a forever home. I'm a mature lady, already spayed and have got a good handle on house-training. Children make me nervous though, so I'd do best in a home with older ones, preferably aged 12 and up. If you're interested in meeting me, stop by the shelter and pay me a visit!

Cat of the Week: Bolt
Age
: 2 years
Color: Black
Breed: Domestic Shorthair Mix
Gender: Male
Adoption Fee: $47.50 (reduced from $95)
It's hard being a black cat in a shelter, no one ever looks at you twice! Heck, you're lucky if they look at you once. I don't know if it's because I don't stand out like the other cats, or if people still think I'll give them bad luck. All I know is that I'm tons of fun on four paws, regardless of what color my fur may be! If you're interested in breaking the stereotype that black cats are the last to get adopted, please come and see me. I promise I'll bring you nothing but good luck if you do! (P.S. I’m in the Lonely Hearts Club, so my adoption fee is half off!)

Small Critter of the Week: Hemmingway
Age: Young adult
Color: Black & grey
Breed: Angora rabbit
Gender: Male
Adoption Fee: $50
Hey there, I’m Hemmingway, and I was brought into the shelter as a stray.  I’m a gorgeous Angora rabbit with long black and gray fur.  I am a little on the shy side, so I will need plenty of reassurance and time to adjust to a new home.  Please bunny-proof an area in your house so I can get some exercise or simply set up an enclosure for me each day.  I’m in the Critter Cottage anxiously awaiting your visit!

Sean, is it possible to post updates if/when any of the featured animals get adopted? I always wonder if any of these cuties find new homes!

Macy found a home. You can go to the shelter's web site and link to "recently adopted".

Excellent point, Jessica! I'd like to see 'happy tails' as well.
