Motorists should expect delays on the Conowingo Dam this weekend as the southbound lane is closed for ongoing resurfacing.

The State Highway Administration said traffic will be alternated via a flagging operation during the temporary closure, which should begin around 6 p.m. on Friday and run until 6 p.m. on Sunday.

Darlington will hold its annual parade and fireworks Saturday evening.

The resurfacing of the northbound lane was completed earlier this month, according to the State Highway Administration.

Motorists may use Interstate 95 or U.S. Route 40 as alternate routes across the Susquehanna River.

This weekend's work should complete the $1.2 million resurfacing project, the SHA said.
