What is going on at this pond?! I think people want to know.

There is no excuse for this from what I understand the COL that is in charge of this pond only had a one day safety stand down after the first person died Jan 30th in this pond without getting OSHA involved to find out what caused that accident. They are trying to say it was human error but now it is hard to believe that the first accident was human error since 2 more divers have died and it hasnt even been a full month? I think that pond needs to be drained and a total investigation needs to be done before anymore testing is resumed. God Only knows what TOP SECRET thing that is dangerous is going on in that pond but it is not worth the life of our Americans and someone needs to pay for this. I think alot of leaders need to be looked at for letting this happen again that soon or ever.

We felt an explosion, which we assumed was in the normal run of testing. Now we wonder.

this is uncalled for what in God's name is happening there? These famiy's need to be compensated for the lose of their loved ones. No Excuse for this negligence . May they rest in peace and prayers going out to the families and friends

How about everybody shut up about what might have happened or how they think things were handled or not handled and keep your comments to expressing sympathy for the families. If you don't know the details...don't speculate or accuse!

The General? Sergeants? Really no idea of what goes on at APG. Perhaps we oughtta get Captain Kirk to investigate this! Unless you were an investigator or actually work on the proving grounds who are you all to make these assumptions? There have been no final results, the first accident is still being investigated. Let the souls rest in peace. If you want to investigate it or offer your two cents go get a degree in investigations apply for work at CID or OSHA and then maybe after years of training you might have a valid point! Drain the pond? Yea okay let's go a step further and draing the bay too and maybe we can find out why it's so filthy!

On 26Feb2013 aproximately 2PM Eastern Standard time a U.F.O came out of the sky and took the lives of 2 brave salors....... Get the point, seriously let these soliders and family rest in peace and remember the good old phrase when u assume something u make an ass out of yourself!

Everyone is entitled to an opinion. You don't like mine, I don't like yours. But, I am having a hard time accepting these deaths. Not near as much as their loved ones are of course.

I think it is nice that all of you care so much about people at APG. But I can honestly say the "leadership" there promotes Safety and cares about everyone in the testing facility as a family. It affects them just as much as the outside public but more. Do not speculate until facts are given. Unless you are involved then you don't know. They do things there to make the soldier in the field safe. Their job is very dangerous. They know the risks and love what they do. Just pray for the families and keep the "conspiracy theories" to yourself .

Prayers and thoughts to the families who have lost a loved one. May we all get to know why this terrible thing has happened, something is terribly wrong and needs to be addressed.
No amount of compensation can replace the loss of a loved one but I hope the families receive the help and compensation that is due.

well said n/a.WJZ! give me a break. lord knows thats a reliable source of info they cant even get the weather right. If you dont work there dont speculate. testing goes on 365 days ayear rain snow sleet freezing temps heat of summer. all so our war fighters can keep YOU in the land of the free.

Was it any different when people died testing tanks in the past on APG? It has been reported the two incidents were unrelated other than they both occurred in the super Pond.
Why does everyone always feel someone should be compensated for an incident like this?. These were servicemen, performing their duties and something happened. We don't know what. For all we know it could have been human error on their part. We have a volunteer force, and they assume the risks inherent in their job willingly and usually enthusiastically. Death is never OK, however it is part of military service, especially in time of war. Have people forgotten the fact we are still a nation at war?

This is crazy I was only told about one diver who lost their life. Wow this is heart breaking. A person goes to work like any other day and it is the last day of their life.
