At least three Harford County football stars are college-bound.
Aberdeen's Christian Carpenter, Fallston's Connor Davis and Joppatowne's Jamil Lee signed national letters of intent Wednesday, taking part in National Signing Day, and committing to play football in college.
As reported by Aberdeen Patch, Carpenter—a stellar wide receiver and defensive back for the Eagles—is bound for Towson University.
Davis, a towering defensive end for the Cougars, will play at Stony Brook, according to The Sun.
Lee, a powerful running back for the Mariners, is headed to Morgan State, Joppatowne coach Bill Waibel told Patch Wednesday morning. Lee's father, Alonso, is the defensive coordinator for the Bears.
According to The Sun, Dunbar's Ernest Hawkins—who began his career at Joppatowne and was on the Dunbar team that defeated Havre de Grace in the 2010 state championship—is headed to UTEP.
North Harford football coach Ken Brinkman said no Hawks signed letters of intent Wednesday, but at least two are expected to commit to colleges soon.
The Sun reported that Bel Air's Kelsey Jenkens will play field hockey at Towson, John Carroll's Shelby Foit will play soccer at Michigan State, John Carroll's Gina Maiorana will play soccer at Seton Hall, North Harford's Haley Jones will play soccer at Shippensburg.
