Vehicle Strikes House, Severs Gas Line

Several homes were evacuated as a precaution while the gas leak was repaired.

A vehicle struck and partially entered a house in the 300 block of Spenceola Parkway in the Forest Hill community early Saturday morning, according to Harford County Fire and EMS spokesman Rich Gardiner.

The impact of the crash that occurred at about 1:30 a.m. severed a gas meter, which caused a significant gas leak.

Several surrounding homes were evacuated and one person was taken to a local hospital.

About 25 firefighters were assisted by BGE personnel and the Harford County building inspector, according to Gardiner.

The scene was cleared at about 4:50 a.m.
