Original post from 6:30 a.m. Friday
Westbound U.S. Route 40 is closed at the Susquehanna River Friday morning.
Work on the Hatem Memorial Bridge has closed the southernmost of the three bridges that carry traffic from Cecil County into Harford County.
Traffic is being detoured onto MD Route 222—which leads traffic to either U.S. Route 1 or Interstate 95.
The detour is set up due to a water main break on U.S. Route 40 in Havre de Grace.
