Thunder, Aberdeen Proving Ground or something else? Residents in Aberdeen and Havre de Grace were puzzled by an extraordinary boom around 10:15 p.m. Monday.

It was about 10:15 p.m. Monday night when an all-too-familiar boom rattled doors around Aberdeen.

Only, this time the sound wasn't during Aberdeen Proving Ground's normal testing hours.

As a storm blew through the region, with thunder, heavy rain and high winds battering Harford County all afternoon and evening, one boom stood out above the rest of the thunder.

As clocks ticked toward the midnight end of a lengthy tornado watch, doors shook in Aberdeen and Havre de Grace.

There was no immediate report of an explosion or any unusual activity in the area.
