Dick Story Joins Howard Bank

Howard Bank President & CEO Mary Ann Scully has announced that Richard W. Story, former CEO of the Howard County Economic Development Authority, will join the bank as Senior Vice President, Community Relations and Government Affairs, and Business Development Liaison.

 

“Howard Bank is enthusiastically welcoming to our senior leadership ranks one of the most successful economic development professionals in the state of Maryland,” Scully said.  “Dick's deep experiences in attracting and assisting the growth of many businesses in Greater Baltimore over the last three decades will enable our own mission in assisting those businesses in the four counties we now serve. I cannot think of a better fit to grow the success of the bank, our clients and the communities in which we live. We are incredibly fortunate to have access to Dick's unique competencies,” she added.

Story is leaving his post as Senior Vice President for Marketing for JPB Partners, which he joined in 2011 after 17 years at HCEDA.  He previously served as Executive Director of the Baltimore County Economic Development Commission and Director of the Carroll County Economic Development Commission among other positions in the field of economic development.  He was inducted in the Maryland Economic Development Association’s Hall of Fame in 2006 and was presented the Lifetime Achievement Award in 2012 by HCEDA.

 

Widely recognized for his community service and leadership in business and professional organizations, Story is often called “the voice of Howard County” for his role as master of ceremonies at community events.

 

Howard Bank, which is headquartered in Ellicott City, has six offices in Howard County, Anne Arundel County and Harford County with a seventh opening in Towson in November.
