Shed Some Clutter—and Possibly Pounds—with Clear Your Clutter Day 2014

Looking to get rid of some clutter—and get a jump start on bathing suit season? Starting April 1, Sappari Solutions will post one type of item per day on its Facebook page participants can set aside to bring to Clear Your Clutter Day at Harford Community College. Those who successfully bring all 26 Scavenger Hunt items to the April 26 event will be entered into a drawing to win a one-month membership to the Bel Air Athletic Club.

This year marks the fourth consecutive Clear Your Clutter Day, an annual event which provides area residents a one-stop drop-off point for unwanted goods. Event organizers Sappari Solutions and Harford Community College are again partnering on the event, which will be held at the college’s parking lot A from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. During those hours, for a $5.00 fee, residents can drop off one carload of items ranging from unwanted papers to plastic grocery bags to event partners for recycling or reuse.

Accepted materials at this year’s Clear Your Clutter Day include electronics and scrap metal, appliances, computers and monitors, cell phones, flattened cardboard boxes, plastic grocery bags, batteries, clothing, toys, household goods, eye glasses, hearing aids, books, like-new building supplies and tools, and like-new purses. Free paper shredding will also be provided onsite.
