Five Things for Sunday

The IronBirds fell to the Williamsport Crosscutters in a short, seven-inning game.

1. The IronBirds Lose 8-2. In only seven innings, the IronBirds allowed eight runs from the Williamsport Crosscutters. Saturday evening's game was shortened due to a heavy storm, according to the team's press release

The Cal Ripken World Series will be held at the Ripken Academy in Aberdeen from August 12-21. Boys 12 and under around the globe will face off in a one-of-a-kind event that is promising for all ages. All games of the Cal Ripken World Series are free. Look forward to events during the week such as Splash Day, Movie Night, Community Fitness Walk and an All Star Community Dance Party.

Come out and enjoy a good time family and friends for some baseball.

A fine arts show, sponsored by the Wilson Ministry Center in the village of Darlington, will be held Friday, September 23 through Sunday, September 25, 2011. This juried show is open to all artists in the Harford, Cecil, Baltimore and lower Pennsylvania county region.

Mail up to three photos of your work with $15 entry fee payable to the Wilson Ministry Center (tax deductible) to: Ms. Nancy Welsh, 2122 Shuresville Rd., Darlington, MD 21034. Deadline is Wednesday, August 31. No photography, prints or computer generated art will be accepted. Entry fee and 10 percent of sales benefit the Wilson Center.
