Five Things for Thursday

The IronBirds beat the Spikes, 5-1 Wednesday night.

1. The IronBirds Win 5-1. After a loss in the series opener against the State College Spikes, the IronBirds brought home a win Wednesday night. Aberdeen sent 10 batters to the plate in the 10th inning, scoring four runs, the team's press release said

Where: Wilson Ministry Center, 1024 Main St, Darlington

A fine arts show, sponsored by the Wilson Ministry Center in the village of Darlington, will be held Friday, September 23 through Sunday, September 25, 2011. This juried show is open to all artists in the Harford, Cecil, Baltimore and lower Pennsylvania county region.

Mail up to three photos of your work with $15 entry fee payable to the Wilson Ministry Center (tax deductible) to: Ms. Nancy Welsh, 2122 Shuresville Rd., Darlington, MD 21034. Deadline is Wednesday, August 31. No photography, prints or computer generated art will be accepted. Entry fee and 10 percent of sales benefit the Wilson Center.

  • Tobacco Cessation Classes

Where: Aberdeen Community Service Building, 34 N Philadelphia Blvd (Room 306)

Date: Weekly on Thursdays

Time: 10–11:30 a.m.

The Harford County Health Department offers free tobacco cessation classes for all users who want to quit. We request that you pre-register for these classes. Nicotine patches, gum or lozenges are available
at no cost to those who qualify.
