NAACP to Host Affordable Care Act Forum Saturday

The forum is open to all residents of Harford County.

Have questions about the Affordable Care Act? 

Head over to the Union United Methodist Church in Aberdeen from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday for a forum hosted by the Harford County Chapter of the NAACP.

The forum is targeted at Harford County's more than 20,000 uninsured residents under the age of 65, according to a press release. 

Guest speakers will include: 

  • Marilyn Johnson, Harford County’s, lead Navigator from the Maryland Health Connection (www.marylandhealthconnection.gov
  • SEEDCO, a partner for Maryland’s Health Benefit Exchange that manages health insurance access programs in the region
  • Representatives from the Harford Community Action Agency, Inc. and the Harford County Health Department
  • Cheri Wilson, MA, MHS, CPHQ from the Hopkins Center for Health Disparities Solutions at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health 
The forum will cover the key provisions of the new health care law, plus coverage eligibility, county enrollment schedules, health disparities and more to help residents figure out how to access to health care coverage, according to the release.

Materials will be available in both English and Spanish. The forum is open to all Harford County residents, but attendance is limited to 300 people. 

The Union United Methodist Church is located at 700 N. Post Rd., Aberdeen.
