For many returning veterans, the transition to civilian life can be tough and job-hunting difficult. But one Harford County vet is out to do his part to help his fellow vets with job opportunities.

Justen Garrity founded Veteran Compost, an Aberdeen-based business that gives preference to veterans and their families. It has taken off since its introduction in 2010 when just by virtue of having a shovel, Garrity said he was the third largest compost business in Maryland.

"There's plenty of people and material to fuel our growth," according to Veteran Compost.
