Aberdeen Great Clips Grand Opening Is Saturday

A new option for hair cuts is coming to the Beards Hill Shopping Plaza.

This holiday season, an Aberdeen business is offering hair cut alternatives that will trim your wait time while not cutting through your bank account.

Great Clips is holding a grand opening for its new Aberdeen location Saturday, and is offering $4.99 haircuts.

"They'll have some more money in their pocket. They can get on their way," owner Tracy Meissner said. "We've made it as shamelessly convenient as possible."

Add to that a cool app for customers to use on their smart phone or from their home computer, which enables them to figure out which of the six shops in Harford and Cecil counties has the shortest wait. Pick a location—four in Harford, two in Cecil—and check in early, trimming the wait time.

Meissner, who grew up in Harford County and lives in Churchville, said she began as a customer at Great Clips before becoming an owner. She said it was her goal to find a business in demand when she made a career change recently.

"It turned out to be a great time," she said. "People always need a haircut, but they may not want to pay $50 every time."

The deal for $4.99 haircuts will run for a limited time at the Aberdeen location. After a few weeks of the promotion, Meissner said coupons will be circulated heavily in Harford County.

The opening follows locations in Churchville, Bel Air, Forest Hill, Perryville and Elkton.

Meissner said Aberdeen was identified as an area Great Clips deemed to be "underserviced."

Aberdeen has other options for hair cuts, including those found in Patch's directory.

Meissner added: "We'll always be, maybe not the cheapest guy in town, but always in the value category."
