IronBirds Planning 10-Year Anniversary

The Aberdeen IronBirds are celebrating a milestone in 2012.

The Orioles minor league affiliate turns 10 years old, and the club is featuring a number of events to commemorate the first decade of IronBirds baseball at .

"Ripken Baseball is very proud of what the Aberdeen IronBirds have meant to Harford County and the surrounding communities throughout the past 10 years," Aaron Moszer, Assistant Vice President of Sales for Ripken Baseball, said in a statement. "Our relationship with the Orioles has given our fans a firsthand glimpse of numerous future major league stars right here at Ripken Stadium. We pride ourselves on providing a family entertainment experience at Ripken Stadium that's continues to be one of the best in class."

The club's All-Decade Team will be unveiled at IronFest on May 5. Fans can vote for the All-Decade team at the IronBirds Facebook page.

IronBirds 10 Year Anniversary Night will be held July 11.

Six fireworks nights are scheduled—June 23, July 3, July 13, July 28, Aug. 10 and Sept. 1.

The club has also unveiled a commemorative logo for the 2012 season.

The IronBirds open at Hudson Valley on June 18 before returning home for the home opener June 20—the start of a five-game homestand.
