Sticks & Stones, Protect Your Bones!

Kilby Cream of Rising Sun, Maryland, (http://bit.ly/kilbymilk), is partnering with Dr. John A. Prodoehl of North Bay Orthopaedics and the University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Health System’s Healthlink Community Outreach to provide free osteoporosis screening and a free quart of milk to screened participants.

Other Rising Sun businesses participating in this event:  Sundance Studio will provide information on fitness programs and Stone Run Farm will provide samples of organic green smoothies.

More than 40 million Americans either already have osteoporosis or are at high risk due to low bone mass.  The only way to detect osteoporosis is to have a screening.   Diet and exercise are very important in osteoporosis control and prevention.   Regular exercise and the consumption of dairy products and leafy greens aid in osteoporosis prevention.

Call 1-800-515-0044 to register for the screening. Screenings are painless tests requiring individuals to remove one shoe and sock.  Results provided immediately.  Individuals who are screened will receive a free quart of milk (bottle deposit still applies).
