Boscov’s Grand Opening at White Marsh Mall!

The wait is finally over! This weekend  Boscov’s department store makes its return to White Marsh Mall and we are delighted to have them back!  Here are a few fun facts about Boscov’s:

• In 1911, Solomon Boscov arrived in Reading, Pennsylvania, purchased $8 worth of merchandise, rolled his wares into a pack and set off to sell them in the surrounding countryside.
• Solomon Boscov established the first Boscov's at 9th and Pike Streets in Reading.
• In 1962, the company began its expansion program with the opening of an exciting, contemporary "Boscov's West" in November.
• The out of town expansion began in August 1972 with the opening of the Lebanon Store.
• Boscov's Department Stores currently has 40 stores reaching across 5 states in the Mid Atlantic region of the country.

To celebrate their return and grand re-opening, Boscov’s has an incredible weekend of events planned October 5 – October 7. Expect special celebrity guests, a ribbon cutting celebration, giveaways and best of all, the chance to give back to many of our local non-profits and charitable organizations. 

On Friday, get in line early for Boscov’s Non-Profit Gala Preview Event!. You’ll get the chance to shop Boscov’s before anyone else AND help a non-profit of your choice. You will need a ticket to enter but they can be purchased at any Boscov’s entrance on Friday and they’re just $5!  Boscov’s has called on local non-profit groups to sell these advance tickets, letting them keep 100% of the proceeds in the process. They have over 90 non-profits participating!! When you buy your ticket, you’ll be able to choose which non-profit you’d like your $5 to go to.   Boscov’s will also be donating additional awards based on the organizations that have the greatest number of tickets presented at the door by customers. The store will be open for this special preview event from 10am – 10pm.

Once inside the gorgeous new store you’ll be able to browse Boscov’s merchandise and maybe even get a head start of your holiday shopping! Look for some incredible deals and opening weekend specials as well. Also inside, Oscar-winning actress Shirley Jones will be taking the stage for two live performances on Friday, Saturday and Sunday in the Boscov’s auditorium, at 2pm and 7pm each day! 

On Sunday, Mr. Albert Boscov and the United Way of Central Maryland will lead the official ribbon cutting ceremony along with performances from the Perry Hall High School Marching Band at 9am.  For all you culinary masters out there, Top Chef Texas finalist Lindsay Autry will be showing off her incredible skills with live demonstrations throughout the day. It’s going to be an amazing weekend and we’re looking forward to seeing you there!
