This Weekend, Help Celebrate Schools At White Marsh Mall!

Last weekend, we celebrated the return of Boscov’s to White Marsh Mall, raising $25,000 for local charities in the process. This weekend, we have a different kind of celebration.

Last weekend, we celebrated the return of Boscov’s to White Marsh Mall, raising $25,000 for local charities in the process.  This weekend, we have a different kind of celebration.

Our Celebrate Schools initiative is an incredible opportunity to raise funds for our local schools. By partnering with DonorsChoose.org we are able to help fund a variety of needs from schools right here in our neighborhood. There are hundreds of projects listed ranging from getting new textbooks to helping secure music and art supplies.  The great part of this campaign is you can pick the exact project, subject, school and even classroom to receive your donation!

To get the community excited to Celebrate Schools and to show off just how amazing our local students really are, we will be hosting a weekend Pep Rally here at the mall. Several of our local schools are taking part in the weekend festivities including Joppa View Elementary, Fullerton Elementary and Carney Elementary.

The event kicks off on Saturday, October 13 with a performance by the Gator Cheerleaders from Perry Hall Rec Council. The Joppa View Elementary Bucketeers will then take the stage to demonstrate the musical abilities of their 20-student bucket band. Later, Carney Elementary School’s Cougar Claws will show off their talent with a 15-minute vocal performance. Throughout the day there will be face painting and great raffle prizes.

The event will continue on October 14 with small fundraisers, donation tables, and art displays.

Here’s a rundown of this weekend’s events:

12 - 5pm:  School art displays, fundraising and donation tables

To donate, head to our Facebook page and browse the list of current school projects that are in need of funding through DonorsChoose.org.  If you don’t have Facebook and would like to make a donation, you can go to DonorsChoose.org to find a project that is close to your heart.

PLUS- we want to help fund these projects faster than ever. To help speed up the process we will match your donation, dollar for dollar! Click here to sign up for The Club and get your matching donation code!

I told two of my employees that I had to lay them off yesterday. We all had a good laugh until IRead More told them it was not a joke. I did tell them that it was because of something some evil Republican congressman had done, and that seemed to make them feel a lot better.
