White Marsh Mall Wants You to Help Celebrate Schools

White Marsh Mall is honored to partner with DonorsChoose.org for our Celebrate Schools! philanthropic initiative.

We know that a great education is one of the most important aspects of our community and we’re thrilled to help make sure your kids are getting the proper schooling. So how do Celebrate Schools! and DonorsChoose.org work? 

DonorsChoose.org was started in 2000 by social studies teacher Charles Best. He wanted to make it easy for anyone to help kids by connecting individual donors with classrooms in need, grades kindergarten through high school.  Teachers from across the country post project requests, both big and small.  Everything from pencils for a poetry writing kit to instruments for a musical, to new microscopes and beakers for science class are featured.  Donors can browse through all of the various project requests and choose the exact school and project that speaks to them.  Once a project reaches a funding goal, the donations are sent directly to the school!

On October 13 and 14, White Marsh Mall and local-area schools, including Carney Elementary School, Chapel Hill Elementary School, Elmwood Elementary School, Joppa View Elementary School, Perry Hall Elementary School, Villa Cresta Elementary School and Pine Grove Middle School will partner to present a fantastic in-mall event to not just celebrate our neighboring schools, but the Mall’s partnership with DonorsChoose.org. The event will be held from 12-5pm in the Lower Level Center Court.  100% of the funds raised will go directly to the participating schools for funding and needed supplies.
