Search Ongoing for Missing Man in Bush River

Emergency crews responded to the Aberdeen area on Sunday night and resumed searching Monday.

UPDATE (Monday, 9:05 a.m.)—Harford County emergency crews resumed their search for a missing boater in the Bush River Monday morning.

Crews responded at about 8:25 p.m. Sunday after two boaters were reported in distress in the water near Park Beach Drive. One person was rescued, while another was reported missing as of late Sunday, according to Harford County Volunteer Fire & EMS spokesman Dave Williams.

The search was suspended late Sunday, and resumed Monday.

According to the U.S. Coast Guard, the missing boater is Khaam Xairabong, 35, who was last seen wearing white cargo shorts and no shirt.

The rescued boater was pulled from the water by a passerby in a canoe.

Sunday’s search included crews from Aberdeen Volunteer Fire Company, Aberdeen Proving Ground Fire Company, Kingsville Volunteer Fire Company, Susquehanna Hose Company, the Harford County Technical Rescue Team, U.S Coast Guard, Maryland State police and Maryland Department of Natural Resources police.
