Aberdeen High School Evacuated after Bathroom Fire

A fire in the boys bathroom was reported just after 1 p.m. on Tuesday.

A fire broke out in the boys bathroom at Aberdeen High School just after 1 p.m. Tuesday, setting off an alarm and sprinklers and forcing students to evacuate, according to fire officials.

Police found the fire, which did not spread due to sprinkler system activation, according to Harford County Volunteer Fire & EMS Association spokesman Rich Gardiner. There were no injuries as a result of the incident, Gardiner said.

The school was evacuated but students were dismissed at their usual time, according to the Office of the State Fire Marshal.

Firefighters cleared the scene after 2 p.m., Gardiner said.

The Office of the State Fire Marshal was investigating the cause.
