UPDATED: Morning House Fire Extinguished Quickly

The fire took place early Tuesday morning on Washington Street in Aberdeen

UPDATED (10:30 a.m.)—Firefighters controlled a blaze at a one-story home on Washington Street in less than 20 minutes Tuesday morning.

The one-alarm fire took place around 2:30 a.m. in the 400 block of Washington Street in Aberdeen, Harford County Volunteer Fire & EMS Association spokesman Rich Gardiner said. The initial report indicated a fire in the rear of the home, Gardiner said.

There were no injuries reported.

The Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the cause of the fire. 

An initial report from the fire marshal indicated the blaze originated in a bathroom and caused approximately $55,000 in damage. It was discovered by a neighbor, according to the fire marshal.

Approximately 25 firefighters from Aberdeen, Aberdeen Proving Ground and the Susquehanna Hose Company responded, the fire marshal said.
