Aberdeen Man Charged In June 4 Stabbing

Police said Jeremy Colleran stabbed Eric Takacs on Plater Street in Aberdeen.

An  man has been arrested in connection with a stabbing that sent another man to an area hospital earlier this month.

Jeremy Colleran, 25, of the first block of Swan Street was arrested around 10:45 p.m. on June 8 and charged with the stabbing of Eric Takacs in the early morning of June 4, Aberdeen police said in a statement Monday afternoon.

According to police, Colleran was charged with robbery, first- and second-degree assault, use of a dangerous weapon with the intent to injure and theft less than $1,000. He is being held at the Harford County Detention Center, police said.

Eric Takacs, 22, of the 700 block of Plater Street was found suffering from stab wounds in his abdomen and back, and also with "numerous facial injuries," Aberdeen police said in a statement. He was flown to Maryland Shock Trauma. His condition was not immediately known Monday.

The incident took place at 1:19 a.m. on June 4 in the 700 block of Plater Street in Aberdeen, as first reported by Patch Monday morning.

Police said initial investigations revealed two males confronted and robbed Takacs before an altercation that led to the victim being stabbed and beaten. The unidentified men fled the scene.

Takacs was driven home from the scene, at which point in time police were notified.
