UPDATED (Monday, 2:15 p.m.)—A 20-year-old Aberdeen man has died after he was hit by a car Saturday night on MD Route 22 near Middleton Road, Aberdeen police said in a press release.

Phillip P. Gaskill, 20, of the 400 block of Law Street "succumbed to his injuries yesterday at Shock Trauma," Aberdeen police said in a statement Monday afternoon.

At about 8:30 p.m. Saturday Aberdeen police officers responded to a report that a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle on westbound Route 22 near Middleton Road, according to the press release.

When officers arrived they found Gaskill "suffering from serious head injuries," the release stated.

A 2004 Volvo driven by Oxana Keck from Aberdeen Proving Groun stuck Gaskill just west of the Middleton Road intersection, according to the statement.

"Gaskill was treated by paramedics from the Aberdeen Fire Department and transported to Maryland Shock Trauma where he remains in critical condition," according to the press release. "The cause of the incident is still under investigation. Keck was not injured. Members of the Harford County Sheriff’s Department Traffic Unit are assisting the Aberdeen Police in the investigation."

We will miss Frankie so very much. We have known him since he was a little boy - he played with our kids all the time and we watched him grow up. He was such a sweet tempered person and our hearts are broken for his family - his parents, grandparents, and siblings.... So sorry to hear of your loss. RIP Frankie. The Jordans.
