Aberdeen Proving Ground Employee Sentenced to 12 Years for Child Porn

The defendant took at least 650 photographs of unclothed, unassuming women inside their homes.

A civilian employee at Aberdeen Proving Ground received a 12-year prison sentence and a lifetime supervised release for two counts of possessing child pornography, according to a press release from the Maryland U.S. Attorney's office.

Police executed a search warrant of David Earl Jones' home and workplace and found 186 videos and 650 photographs of naked women and children who were unaware they were being filmed or photographed, the release said.

At least seven minors and one adult female were identified from Jones' images, according to the release.

U.S. District Judge Catherine C. Blake, who issued the sentence, also ordered that Jones must register as a sex offender in his residential area, workplace and school, the release said.

According to Jones' plea agreement, the Harford County Sheriff's Office responded to an emergency call on April 15, 2010, that a man was taking pictures of a naked 15-year-old girl through the window of her home.

After police found and arrested Jones at the scene, they heard Jones instructing someone over the phone to delete his Facebook account, the release said.

Maryland U.S. Attorney Rod J. Rosenstein and Harford County Sheriff L. Jesse Bane, in addition to Colonel Marcus L. Brown, Superintendent of the Maryland State Police, announced the sentence.

The case was a part of Project Safe Childhood, which aims to tackle child sexual exploitation and abuse nationwide.
