Aberdeen Warehouse Fire Caused $50K in Damage

The fire broke out inside a building on West Bel Air Avenue Monday afternoon.

A commercial building fire in Aberdeen Monday caused $50,000 in damage, according to the Office of the State Fire Marshal.

The fire marshal said the blaze in the 700 block of West Bel Air Avenue broke out around 1 p.m. and was discovered by a person visiting the nearby dialysis center.

Approximately 25 firefighters—from Aberdeen, Susquehanna Hose Company, Abingdon and Level—responded to the fire, which took approximately 20 minutes to control, according to the report.

The blaze reportedly originated inside the building, which is owned by Hermaco Properties and occupied by Hadry Masonry.

Nobody was injured in the fire, according to the report.

The fire marshal said the fire caused $20,000 in structural damage and $30,000 in damage to items inside the building.

According to the fire marshal, the cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
