Route 40 Crash Snarled Traffic Thursday

The crash occurred around 3 p.m. near Old Philadelphia Road, according to Aberdeen police.

UPDATED (12 a.m.)—A crash on Route 40 caused delays for approximately two hours Thursday afternoon in Aberdeen, according to officials.

Firefighters and police officers were on the scene of a collision after 3 p.m. Thursday at Route 40 and Old Philadelphia Road, according to Rich Gardiner, spokesman for the Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association.

There were reports of entrapment associated with the crash, said Gardiner.

The Aberdeen Police Department asked motorists at approximately 3:20 p.m. to consider using an alternate route. By 5 p.m., the Aberdeen Police Department said that the roadway was cleared.
