Driver Killed in I-95 Crash is Identified

Yvette Allen, 35, of Aberdeen was killed in the two-vehicle crash Saturday near Exit 85.

Maryland State Police officials have released the name of the driver killed in a two-vehicle collision on I-95 near the Aberdeen exit Saturday morning.

Yvette Allen, 35, of Aberdeen was killed when the Ford Expedition she was driving crashed into the rear of a tractor-trailer truck parked on the shoulder of the highway near Exit 85 to Aberdeen, according to state police officials.

A preliminary investigation shows that for unknown reasons Allen drove onto the shoulder of the highway, striking the truck.

The truck driver's name was not released.

The exit ramp was closed for two and a half hours while the crash was investigated, according to a state police statement.

Courtesy Patrol units and personnel from the Aberdeen Fire Department  assisted with detouring traffic around the crash scene. Members of the MSP Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division also responded to the scene.

State troopers from the John F. Kennedy and Bel Air barracks are conducting a detailed reconstruction of the crash in their continuing investigation, according to the statement.
