UPDATE (12:25 a.m.)β€”One person was pronounced dead at the scene as Harford County firefighters battled a blaze in an Edgewood townhouse early Friday evening.

The Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company confirmed the death in an email to Patch just after 11 p.m. Friday. Explore Harford cited a State Fire Marshal's report that a 5-year-old boy had died.

Initial reports indicated that two people were trapped inside a middle-of-group townhome in the Harford Square development, according to Harford County Volunteer Fire & EMS Association spokesman Rich Gardiner.
