Electrical Failure To Blame for Parke Street Fire

The Office of the Maryland State Fire Marshall determined the fire caused about $15,000 in damages.

An electrical failure sparked a fire that caused roughly $15,000 in damage to an Aberdeen home Saturday, according to a release from the Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office.

Investigators believe the fire started in the rear porch interior wall. The fire was deemed accidental, "a result of an electrical failure of the service entrance line entering the breaker panel box," the release states.

A neighbor discovered the fire in the 200 block of South Parke Street in Aberdeen on Saturday March 23 at 11:04 p.m. 

It took about 40 firefighters 20 minutes to extinguish the blaze.
