Friday Morning Crashes Tie Up Traffic in Harford County

Crashes snarled traffic along I-95, MD Route 22 and US Route 40 between Aberdeen and Havre de Grace.

Three incidents around the Interstate 95 corridor between Aberdeen and Havre de Grace led to delays on the roads Friday morning.

In addition to a vehicle fire near Havre de Grace on I-95, there were two tractor-trailer rollovers in the Aberdeen area, resulting in the closure of the ramp from eastbound MD Route 22 to eastbound US Route 40 for approximately one hour.

The Aberdeen Police Department reported the ramp from Route 22 to Route 40 was reopened at 10:37 a.m.

As the incidents happened, Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association spokesman Rich Gardiner was tweeting out the details. Here are Gardiner's messages, modified for clarity:

9:54 a.m.: Auto fire reported on northbound I-95 at mile marker 88.1 near Havre de Grace on the slow shoulder between the Earlton Road overpass and Level Road (MD Route 155).

9:49 a.m.: Another overturned tractor trailer was reported on southbound I-95 in Aberdeen near mile marker 84.6. The incident reportedly occurred on the ramp to MD Route 22. There was a minor injury, Gardiner said.

9:23 a.m.: A tractor trailer rollover has closed the ramp from MD Route 22 to eastbound US Route 40. According to Gardiner, there were no injuries.
