Jeff Gahler Will Run For Harford Sheriff

In his letter release just before midnight Monday, Gahler said: "Although we did not achieve our goal during the 2010 election year, I would not have traded the experience of meeting and listening to so many concerned Harford County residents and business owners or challenging the status quo for anything and I look forward to expanding these efforts in the future."

The Republican lost by a 3,000-vote margin—51.6 percent to 48.3 percent—in one of the latest-decided Harford County races in the election.

He didn't rule out running again in 2014 when asked by Patch the night of the 2010 election.

"Certainly it will be something I look at," Gahler said. "We already have plans to store all the materials, the signs, with that as a possibility. So we will move forward on that plan to stay actively involved in the Harford County community and the Republican party."
