Graceford Drive Fire Causes $15,000 in Losses

It took 25 firefighters about 30 minutes to extinguish the fire, which was determined to be accidental in nature, according to official reports.

A house fire in the unit block of Graceford Drive in Aberdeen Tuesday caused an estimated $15,000 in damages, according to a report issued by the Maryland State Fire Marshall. 

Firefighters arrived on the scene to find an outdoor wood deck on fire, according to the report. The owner of the house was home at the time of the blaze. She was evacuated from the house and was uninjured by the fire. 

It took 25 firefighters about 30 minutes to extinguish the flames. Investigators determined that the fire was accidental in nature, and was started by some wood embers from a smoker that were discarded improperly. 

Structure damages were estimated at $10,000 and property loss was estimated at $5,000.
