Bottle Bombs Explode; Teen Charged

Two bottle bombs exploded inside a dumpster in Aberdeen Thursday night.

A 16-year-old male was charged after two bottle bombs were detonated inside an dumpster Thursday night.

The boy was released to his parents after being charged in connection with the explosion inside a dumpster at the Magnolia Apartments in the first block of East Bel Air Avenue, according to the Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office.

Aberdeen police initially responded to a report of two gunshots at 10:06 p.m. Thursday before discovering the improvised explosive devices inside the AW Sanitation dumpster.

Six firefighters from Aberdeen Volunteer Fire Department responded.

The juvenile confessed to developing the devices. He was charged with manufacture/possession/distribution of a destructive device, the fire marshal said.
