Man Charged with Rape of 13-Year-Old Girl
Aberdeen police arrested a local man on Monday for allegedly sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl.
A 29-year-old man has been charged with sexually and physically assaulting a 13-year-old girl.
Gerald Joseph Hazelwood, 29, of the 300 block of North Philadelphia Boulevard, was charged with second-degree rape, second- and third-degree sex offense and second-degree assault. He is currently being held at the Harford County Detention Center, according to an news release.
The teenager's mother reported to police that her daughter was assaulted at a friend's home on Jan. 26, according to the news release.

"The victim knew Hazelwood prior to the assault," Lt. Fred Brudnick, a spokesman for the Aberdeen Police Department, stated in the release.
