No Injures in Bedroom Fire on Garner Drive

Aberdeen Fire Department personnel responded to a fire on Garner Drive.

No one was hurt in a blaze at a home in the 220 block of Garner Drive that firefighters extinguished shortly after 4 p.m. on Thursday.

The fire started in the bedroom and the cause of the fire is under investigation, said Maryland State Fire Marshal Howard Ewing.

A family of three plus two roommates were living in the house. At the time of the fire, Christopher Davis, 19, and his mother were inside the house.

"I was in the living room, on the phone, and all of a sudden the bedroom door slammed open with smoke pouring out of it," Christopher Davis said.

There is heavy smoke damage and the house will mostly likely need to be razed, said Battalion Chief Dale Budnick Sr.
