Official: Weekend Car Fire Was Intentional

The Maryland State Fire Marshal said arson is to blame for a fire Saturday morning in Perryman.

Arson is to blame for a vehicle fire in Perryman early Saturday morning.

A four-door 2006 Hyundai burned in the 1400 block of Cranberry Road at 12:07 a.m. Saturday, when the Aberdeen Fire Department quickly extinguished the blaze, the Maryland State Fire Marshal said in a statement.

The fire, set intentionally, originated on the exterior of the car, the fire marshal said. It caused $1,500 damage to the car, according to the fire marshal.

The Harford County Sheriff's Office assisted with the investigation, the statement said.
